What To Do Before Your Appointment

Hydrate Well
Hydration can influence how tissues respond to deep, sustained bodywork. Drinking water before your session may help you feel more comfortable during and after treatment.

Avoid Heavy Meals or Excess Alcohol
Deep compression work can feel uncomfortable on a very full stomach, and alcohol may increase dehydration and sensitivity.

Don’t Arrive Already Overloaded
Intense workouts immediately before deep myofascial or barefoot massage can leave tissues irritated and reactive. Most people respond better to treatment when the body is not already heavily taxed.

What To Do After Your Appointment

Give Your Body Time to Integrate
Many people leave barefoot massage feeling:
Grounded
Heavy
Open
Relaxed
Sleepy
More aware of posture and movement patterns

*Changes in tension, mobility, and body awareness can continue unfolding over the next 24–48 hours.

Hydrate and Eat Nourishing Foods
Water, electrolytes, protein, and mineral-rich foods can support recovery after deeper bodywork sessions.

Gentle Movement Is Better Than Total Stillness
Walking, mobility work, stretching, or other light movement can help the body adapt after treatment. Heavy training immediately afterward is generally not recommended.

Mild Soreness Can Be Normal
Especially after focused myofascial or deep barefoot work, temporary soreness may occur. Sharp pain, nerve symptoms, or lingering irritation should always be communicated to your therapist.
